Default Jesus not fulfillin scriptures?

There are many arguements against Jesus for not fulfilling the scriptures. HEre are some of them.

If Jesus is truly the messiah, then he must fufill these thigns

1. be a male descendent of king solomon (requires a biological father)

2. He must gather the Jewish people from exile and return them to Israel

3. He must rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem in 3 days

4. He will rule at a time of world-wide peace

5. He will rule at a time when the Jewish people will observe God's commandments

6. He will rule at a time when all people will come to acknowledge and serve one God

Now I know 4-6 are to be resolved in Jesus' second coming, but is the second coming really foretold in OT?

There isn't any problem with these, sure maybe for those who don't know who Jesus really is and who the Church, etc...but the understandings of how these are fulfilled are there. Like with the rebuilding of the temple for example; it was Jesus' body that was the temple, which as we all know was in fact raised up on the third day...(I should have quoted you, because I am having a brain fart at the moment, but I will have to get back to you with more detailed answers later)...

God bless!

Hello Villaneweva,

The Messiah taught us that we are to participate in God's work and this is God's gift to us.

What we all really seek is healing love. The Messiah offers the love and life that only God can give.

The Israelites of the OT era intermarried within male lineages. Abraham marrying his half sister Sarah. Isaac marries his cousin Rebekah. Jacob his first cousins Leah and Rachel. Ruth marries a "kinsman redeemer," a relative. Some believe that even in the NT era there was intermarrying within "tribe" to a great extent. Nazareth a town of people related to one degree or another. Basically Joseph and Mary might have been cousins of some type. Both descendents of David and Solomon. Some theorize the difference in the lineages, though ending with Joseph as the legal father, were because one is via Joseph and one via Mary - the source of Jesus' humanity.

Villaneweva - I, too would like to know where you got this list because it appears to be nothing more than a beginner's misinterpretation of Scripture.
MANY places in scripture speak of Jesus' return. Jesus spoke in parables constantly driving this point home (the parable of the groom and the 10 virgins to speak of one).
The Epistles also speak of it:
1 Thess. 4:15-18
"Indeed, we tell you this, on the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will surely not precede those who have fallen asleep.
For the Lord himself, with a word of command, with the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of God, will come down from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore, console one another with these words."
All of the points on your list were answered thousands of years ago. Unfortunately, the scourge of Protestantism has provided us with thousands of individual interpretations that confuse many.
You can find the answers to many of your questions with the following link.

God bless you, my friend.

vill:

" be a male descendent of king solomon (requires a biological father)"

OT source for this requirement? Specifically, where does it say it must be a biological father, not a legal father? I have in mind specifically the example where when a man died without children, his brother was required to take the woman and raise up an heir for his brother - the child was legally the dead man's son, biologically the brother's son. IMHO, this is the difference in the geneologies in Matthew and Luke - Matthew gives the legal geneology because that was the one that mattered to his Jewish audience.

"He must gather the Jewish people from exile and return them to Israel"

I refer you to Scott Hahn's tape series on Romans 9-11, "All Israel Will be Saved", for how Jesus fulfilled these prophecies.

"He must rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem in 3 days"

As somebody already pointed out, He did.

"He will rule at a time of world-wide peace"

Specific OT prophecy you have in mind? I think I know - and if you read the whole prophecy you'll find it doesn't really say that.

"He will rule at a time when the Jewish people will observe God's commandments"

As Paul says, "For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel" (Rom 9:6)

"He will rule at a time when all people will come to acknowledge and serve one God"

All, as in universally every single one, or all as in all types??? If the latter, it is fulfilled.

Score: Jesus, 6 out of 6. Not bad, eh?
